A Not So Unique Birthday Present!

I know I haven’t written anything new for this blog is quite a while. Even on my main anime blog things have been kinda slow. Well, slow is the wrong word for it. I’d say things have been hectic…very hectic––and things are only going to get busier as the holidays come closer. Yet, the main reason I haven’t posted anything new here is because nothing major has really happened.

Well, except my birthday, that is! Becoming a year older doesn’t feel any different to me. It’s a bit bitter-sweet. After turning 21, birthdays aren’t so exciting anymore, nothing to look forward to, until Social Security. >>

But, one major betterment in my life, perhaps one that may not sound so exciting to you, was getting TV in my room! It was a birthday present of sorts. Now that I’m living away from home, I don’t really have a way to catch the sports games, so my parents decided this would be my present. Ironically, though TV has been around for decades, this is something I’ve been waiting almost 2 DECADES for!

Double Life

Someone asked me once if I ever feel like I’m living someone else’s life, and to that I answer, “Yes.” I never really understood the definition of a mid-life crisis––that is until now, when my whole world was literally turned upside down. It’s funny, because I like to joke with people that I’m not the same person that I was 4 years ago, and it’s true. If the me from 4 years ago saw the me today, he would call him a wimp and a pussy. But the me now is completely different from the me even a month ago.

Awkward Conversations (1 & 2)

Just some awkward rhetoric I had with my friend over the last couple days

[After showing him My Little Ponies]

Friend: How come they don’t have vaginas?

Miku: It’s a kid’s show, of course they won’t draw that in. Actually, now that I think about it, I didn’t even know horses had vaginas! But I guess it has to go somewhere.

Friend: “What” has to go “where”?

Miku: You know: you get a male horse and a female horse and you make My Little Ponies!

Miku: So, are you going to the thing tomorrow?

Friend: Nope.

Miku: Why not?!

Friend: I told you, you have to tell me two weeks in advance so I can get off from work.

Miku: But you were the one who told me to reserve the seats! You knew a whole month in advance!

Why so much Hate?

Being a newfound Brony, I’ve come across many people who are both fans and haters of the show. As a fan of anime AND My Little Pony, it’s quite a unique spot I’m in. There are some people within the anime community who despise MLP. There are some Bronies who hate anime. There are some Bronies who love anime. There are some people who hate MLP AND anime. And I’m stuck in the middle.

My Little Pony has Consumed my Life

Just a quick update. Nothing too elaborate. I’ve pulled my 2nd all-nighter in a row, and I’m probably going to sleep again very soon even though I just woke up 15 hours ago.

Most of you have probably heard of My Little Pony, or even owned some of the toys as a child (if you were a girl). 10 year ago, I never would’ve guessed that I would become such a huge anime fan in 2004, and in 2004 I never would’ve guessed that I’d be a Brony in 2011.

Shit Happens

Life is not perfect. Murphy’s law states that “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.” Whether you believe in a superior deity or not, there is some greater force out there that controls our lives and we have to do our best to work through it.
